Matthew The root of fear eats away like a worm and produces pain, anger, jealousy, depression, neurosis, bitterness, and guilt. When you are tempted to fear and worry which we all are , draw near to the Lord in faith and sincere prayer seeking His Will, then trust in Him to lead you through this trouble, pain, distress, or hardship.

If He wants you to go through it, He will help, lead, and carry you through it.

What Does the Bible Say About Modern Prophets?

To have the fear of God means to fear the consequences of ignoring, rejecting, or disobeying His Rules which were lovingly given to protect us, and not to harm us. Here, in Psalm 34, we are taught what fear of the Lord means, and we also find many blessings are promised to all those who will fear Him. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!

Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints, for those who fear him have no lack! The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. Turn AWAY from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and His ears toward their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the Earth.

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.

30 Encouraging Bible Verses About Hope

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. MANY are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. God has lovingly given all Mankind His rules to live by in order to protect us and to save us from harm. Yet, with outstretched arms and with tears of joy, God is always waiting to welcome us home in order to heal and comfort us after we have wandered and have painfully discovered the truth and safety of His loving words, warnings, and rules.

God loves you more than words can say. He knows the pain and heartbreak we feel … for He has felt it, too.

The Bible says our spirit will someday groan to leave this earthly body. Our real life, in His Kingdom of Heaven, is yet future. Although there are times we may feel alone and abandoned, He will never forsake you or leave you. The Bible says the true child of God will find suffering in this life.

Each of us will have our faith tested. Jesus waits for us to ask Him into our lives to help, to strengthen, to comfort, and to heal. He lovingly wraps His arms around the lonely and the brokenhearted. Jesus will never cast away or turn away any man or woman that willingly comes to Him, regardless of how young or how old, or how good or how bad.

Any and all who come to Him with a sincere and humbled heart are welcomed with open arms.

30 Encouraging Bible Verses About Hope

Jesus is God. He now prepares our place in Heaven where there will be no fear, no worries, no pain, no heartbreak, and no tears. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Trust in God!

Forget the past glories and achievements. The prophet Haggai recorded his four messages to the Jewish people of Jerusalem in BC, eighteen years after their return from exile in Babylon BC. Haggai seems to indicate that the prophet had seen Jerusalem before the destruction of the temple and the exile in BC, meaning he was more than seventy years old by the time he delivered his prophecies.

From these facts, the picture of Haggai begins to come into focus. They had been humbled by their exile to Babylon, hopeful in their return to their Promised Land, and then so discouraged by opposition in their rebuilding of the temple that they had quit Ezra Unlike most of the other prophets, Haggai explicitly dated his prophecies, down to the day. These messages encouraged the people of Judah to finish building the temple and to have hope in God for the promise of blessings in the future. After thousands of years, the book of Haggai remains largely unique among the books of Old Testament prophets for one key reason: the people of Judah listened!

No one could mistake whether or not his direction had been followed—the results would be evident for all the people to see. Through the physical act of rebuilding the temple, the people began to indicate a shift in their spiritual lives: from devotion to self toward devotion to God. Haggai had an important message for the Jews who had recently returned from exile. The Jews who emigrated from Babylon to their original homeland of Judah faced intense opposition, both external and internal.

The Lord’s Offer

Ezra —5 records the external resistance to the project of rebuilding the temple. Haggai, on the other hand, focused on the internal opposition they faced, namely from their own sin. Are you building a life that reflects your status as a temple of the Holy Spirit, leaving a legacy that will stand the test of time?
